We refer to them "Did you check out the lovely dried arrangements" Hehe

When I used to kill houseplants on a regular basis, I would chop them into little bits, put the bits in a bowl and tell people it was exotic potpourri.

Spider plant.  People who know more about this sort of thing than I do swear that these are virtually idiot-proof.  Very forgiving if you neglect them for a bit, they do well in pots or on hangers, and aren't picky about sunlight.
