You aren't looking at it right.

Do you think it would be better if they all drove Humvees?

Just think what the air would be like if they all left their bikes home and drove a big ol' honkin' SUV...

Have you ever driven in Boston? The city isn't equipped for cyclists. The streets are insanely narrow, and people park on either side. It's impossible to see them, and they dart out all the time. They also don't follow the rules of traffic, so it creates a clusterfuck. Honestly, it'd be safer if they were in SUVs, but I never said I'd prefer they were driving. We have a very robust public transportation system and are the most famous walking city in the country.

I'm conflicted. I'm a cyclist, but I am a wet long ride away from Boston.

Yeah, they're a problem here. We don't have the space for it in most areas. I live in a rural area where they don't bother me much, but the second I hit the city, they make my life miserable.

More bikes would lower congestion and would be a better solution than less bikes.

It sounds like law enforcement needs to start writing more tickets to bike riders - or anyone else - who isn't following the rules of the road.

A guy I used to work with came in one morning all cheesed off because he got a ticket for running a stop sign. My response- don't run stop signs! His main problem was that it counted as a moving violation. I've given up riding my bike in my city because people either don't care or don't pay attention. I was lucky that I only got hit on the handlebar a couple of years ago, and the asshole didn't stop. Probably didn't even notice. I always stopped for stop signs on my bike but most people seen to think that they don't have to.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

Congestion isn't the problem. The problem is there is no room for the bikes on the road. There wouldn't be more room with fewer cars. The cars stay in a line (in some places). In fact, more cars would make it safer, since you can't go faster than five miles an hour without risking killing some idiot.

Yeah, riders don't seem to think there are rules for them. They just behave as if they're on foot. Maybe if people needed a permit to ride their bikes in certain parts of the city, it would result in more cyclist education.

I'm all for getting more cars off the road. We just aren't equipped for cyclists.

People who are both deaf and blind are well known for the frequency at which they don't push shopping carts across parking lots.

Other than the savings on fuel, I really never understood the appeal of the Prius. I test drove one because I was "curious". And seeing out the back was near impossible. Also the fact it never made noise at a stoplight was so strange.

Went to cross the parking lane from one side to the other, a horn toots (yeah, typical small car horn) and zoom, the car whizzes around me making almost no sound.

I guess it's partially my fault cause I didn't look behind me but I so used to hearing the engine noise that it didn't even cross my mind to look. It missed me by inches, I almost pissed my pants! A cell phone could have been involved also. So much for pedestrian right of way.

I can't imagine the fear this causes for the visually impaired. And now Harley has an electric cycle. There is no way I'd even consider owning one without it making noise.

So if you own an e-car, turn up the music and roll down the windows.

(I'm off to check my shorts)

Always look before crossing the road.

Easy-peasy.

Anyway, it was an electric car. It’s probably more afraid of you than you are of it.

Suicide-by-car isn't limited to electrics.
