Are you happy where you live?

RE: Are you happy where you live?
In recent years, summers have been horrible, and the other seasons seem to be getting shorter. Winter can still get below freezing for a few weeks, and it feels like spring and fall don't last long enough. I know it didn't used to be like this when I was a kid, and I'm almost forty, so maybe there is something to all the global warming talk after all.

Good video to watch, if you want to know how common the Jesus story really is.

Maybe?

Ya think?

I remember blizzards. I remember snow drifts that buried houses.

Have not seen those in over 30 years.

Yeah. I don't want to turn this into a global warming discussion, but I remember October being cold in Alabama when I was a kid. Now I'm still cutting grass through that month.

RE: Are you happy where you live?
Yes. I live in Northern Virginia, so I enjoy the policies of a purple state (lower taxes, mostly) while being able to commute to the capital of the United States in less than 30 minutes. It's exciting as hell to work two blocks from the White House. Dreamt about it most of my life, and I'm very happy to be living in the area.

I fear it will become too expensive to live where I live once Amazon's HQ2 rolls through. I'm not happy about it. I wish we'd give Amazon the same treatment that New York gave them, but it doesn't look like that will happen.

It depends on the day, month, year. lol

Overall, I really dislike our neighborhood and would move somewhere less congested in a heartbeat.

Overall, I'm satisfied with where I live. The occasional earthquake or brush fire aren't much concern. I'd like for it to be less hot in the hot months, though. We have a relatively low worry for flooding due to tsunamis, too. Now, if the people migrating here from LA would drive better, that would be nice.

Define “live”.
Dying to live, living to die.

There is living, and there is existing. They are quite different.
