Sorry to hear you backed a loser.  Sure they beat Namibia.  My local Sunday side could beat Namibia.

Yeah.

You don’t have to rub it in, or else you’ll get the hose again.

New Zealand: 63

Canada: Nil

Not much to boast about - Canada have the worst team in the World Cup.  Sunday, we play Namibia - the second worst team.  Smile

Just won a squeaker over Namibia  - 71-9.  Talk about slipping...

Still, the highest point differential in the tourney at 135.

Why don't rugby players wear protective gear?

Or do they?

Some of the forwards wear scrum caps, everybody wears mouth pieces and jockstraps.

"Protection" a la NFL is actually very counter productive because a) it gives a false sense of security to the wearer, thus vastly increasing stupid shit like tackling the other player by essentially doing a flying head butt, and b) given the weight of the players, the speed at impact, putting an extra 50-100 lbs on them is simply increasing momentum to little by way of impact protection.

Hmm...Makes sense, I guess.

Thanks.
