Yes, I'm a socialist.  But increasing taxes on the rich isn't theft.  Those most able to benefit from a society have a larger responsibility to support that society.  This is reflected in things like progressive tax rates.

If you don't depend on the rest of the world, why do you import more than you export?

Excessive taxation is theft. The rich in US already pay 70% of income tax, 100% of corporate tax and substantial part of payroll tax

It's the other way around. Society benefits from the rich. Otherwise North Korea would be richer than South Korea and USSR wouldn't collapse.

The disparity between the portion of taxes paid between the rich and the poor might have something to do with it being impossible to squeeze money out of people who don't have any..don't you think?

I suppose we could just let the poors die, but if that's not on the table...we'll need funds for services, which will have to come from a place where those funds exist.
