I still miss the community from the old days, though I still barely have the time to keep up with a forum. I'll post an intro thread later, maybe Smile

Woah, it's you ...

It's not much more lively over there, and there are a few cunts that took up residence. Just sayin'.

Edited to add: Seriously, though, I do hope AD does well. They have nice staff, and I do hope that people here find a new home if this place goes down.

I haven't been on here in a long time, and thought about AF today, and read this thread. Sad I'm no longer an atheist, but I remember this was the very first forum I joined when I identified as an atheist. Forums of all sorts are dying out, mainly because reddit, facebook, IG, etc have taken over people's interests.

No matter what happens, thank you Tibs for creating such a great site, where all people are welcome. Even though life is quite busy now for me, with a husband and work, etc I will always remember fondly this place.

Always. Heart

RE: Future of the Forums (Discussion)
I just logged on to Patreon for this first time since I don't know when. I never "stopped" my dollar a month pledge, but I see now that they haven't charged it to me since June, if I'm understanding what I see there. I re-entered my card info. I distinctly remember asking if my getting a new card (old one wasn't lost, just so frayed at the edge that it wouldn't scan sometimes) would bump off donations like this and they said since the old one wasn't being cancelled, everything should keep on doing what it should. But I bet my "3 digit code" on the back changed, and that's what's done it. I wonder how many other automatic things on this card have been screwing up accordingly as well.

ANYWAY, I bumped my $1 per month to $3 a month. I HOPE I did everything correctly to achieve that. It sent me in a bunch of circles, that's for sure. I'll try to remember to check on that in the "next billing cycle."

Though I am on this forum a lot less than I used to be, I would certainly consider it to be a loss if it were gone. Sadly I have no skills to offer, just a bit of money. Hope it will help keep it afloat.
Where are we going and why am I in this hand basket?

Also, I just realised I still didn't have the little purple highlight to my username and the badge I should have after becoming a patron. And I contracted Tiberius about it, like the post said I should.

I would like to donate, but require privacy, for...reasons. How can I do that

I haven’t been around either. Busy life and also forum life isn’t as attractive to me anymore. Having said that, to think that some folks here wouldn’t be just a click away breaks my internet heart. If any of my friends here want to keep in touch outside the forums, send me a private message and we can Instagram or something.

Anywho... I’ll be checking in to see what’s going to happen. Thanks for the memories, Tibs. I’ve made some great friends here.
