Any of you attend a Christian University/high school. What were your thoughts?

Any of you attend a Christian University/high school. What were your thoughts?
I'm currently working on my Masters at a local Christian University. I did not decide to continue at my alum where I got my Undergrad from was due to distance and not wanting to live in an apartment again (bleh). I live with my brother now. Anyways, almost a year into my Grad program at this Christian University has been interesting. The place has a unique atmosphere. However, I DEEPLY miss the school I earned my Undergrad from. There really aren't any strict rules I have to follow as a student thankfully.

I won't state the name of the school just for privacy reasons.

My primary and secondary education was at Catholic schools through Upper Sixth. I went to QUB for my undergrad, then did some post graduate work (uncompleted) at Trinity College Dublin.

I got through Catholic school fine, once I learned to keep my yap shut.  No real issues, it was a quality education.

LOL I had a professor that had some funny but sad stories from Catholic school. He got the paddle quite often.

The faculty at my school were informed that, under no circumstances, was a Shannon child to be struck. Da's more-in-sorrow-than-in-anger speeches were far more effective than any paddling could have been.

Reminds me of my Mom. When I was a kid and she gave me that "look" I knew I fucked up.

I always went in the public school system. Secular as it can get. There is the optional "morals and religions". Never took it.

I went to Catholic schools from 6th grade through high school graduation. I'd have preferred the public schools that were a couple towns to the east of us but mostly because that's where my friends went to school. We did have to take a 'religion' class every semester but some were actually okay...like the one titled 'World Religions'. There was almost no religion mentioned in our other classes and we had first class science instructors who didn't ever mention religion - not even the members of the clergy I had for some of the classes. High school was geared toward college attendance so instruction was in line with what most people would encounter at secular colleges.

Other than the occasional mandatory masses and seeing nuns, priests, and brothers every day...I don't think it was an issue. Education standards were high. Now, when I look at the website for the school it seems to be much more religion oriented than I remember it being.

My brother attended two religious colleges during his four years but that's because they were the schools that offered him free ride scholarships for football. He seems to have survived parochial school from first grade through college just fine.

I just realised I posted my little translations the wrong thread.
