Is eating hunted meat ethical?

Hunting them and shooting them killing them quickly then consuming their meat is still therefore ethical maybe? The animal will feel less pain in its lifetime if shot to death than if it died naturally in the wild.

Correct?

You gave us your opinion when you said you were trying to be a vegan. No where to go after that.

Why "not really"?

I don't eat animals because they feel pain EDIT: but hunted animals would feel a lot less pain than if kept in the wild to suffer and die naturally.. I don't think they have the "Right To Live" like humans do. We can decide for them if hunted meat perhaps?

Then again, the argument could be made that hunting is less  ethical, because it's disrupting the natural order.  Suppose Joe shoots a deer.  That deer may have shat out seeds that would have grown into plants which could have provided food, shelter and breeding/nesting areas for dozens of species.  Without those plants, hundreds of individual organisms may experience pain and suffering which would otherwise have been avoided.

Have a steak and calm down.

Boru

Nah because the organisms that eat shit (like you're basically making me do by answering you) will just suffer anyway, with or without the deer.

I'm a lamb man myself. Although not anymore Sad

Well I'm trying to be an ethical person: Does that mean I have to eat vegan?

Technically any meat eaten has been 'hunted' unless you are scooping up roadkill to dump in your crockpot.

Why is it that vegans are so much like Evangelicals?

You don't want meat? Don't eat any. What's on my plate shouldn't really concern you unless it's a relative of yours.

Life is brutal. That's just the way it is. Something's life cycle has to end in order for mine to continue.

I am still confused by all the ads for foods that aren't meat that are made to look and taste like meat. You are either for it or against it - pretending you are eating a burger when what you are eating is plant paste - who is it you are trying to impress? Is this sort of thing supposed to make a person feel superior?

The latest thing I see is 'butter' made from plants. Good lord - what a bunch of crap.

The only time I can understand someone eating a fake thing is when they are allergic to the real thing.

We are vegan for ethical reasons usually. That doesn't mean we don't crave meat.

Then do that...those of us who eat meat and don't stay awake at night worrying about it don't really need to justify the fact that humans are omnivores.

So how do you justifying eating meat? We are omnivores but we have ethics. You don't have to eat meat to be healthy.
