Atheists on Oprah far as year 1984

This looks like a proto video of all the atheist-theist conversations that YouTube is full of, and it even
seems like it was one of the first encounters of public with godless thinking. The audience goes over the regular shtick of "Where do you get your morality from?" Or a guy at 32:32 who thinks that whole Egypt fell when all of the Egyptian army drowned in the Red Sea pursuing Moses.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

RE: History videos
Okay, fun fact: Once when I was younger, I was at my Grandmas, and bored after dinner one night, I started to change channels, and I saw this on what I'm fairly certain is PBS:

This, helped along by a glowing blurb for The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari in a book of the history of film, sparked a fascination with Weimar-era cinema that lives with me to this day, and I think it helped inform the article I just wrote about the Nazi Titanic film, putting at least the cinematic aspects into perspective.

Also, by an extraordinary coincidence, over a decade after watching this, I watched this documentary for a class on the Weimar Republic when I went to Columbia.
Comparing the Universal Oneness of All Life to Yo Mama since 2010.

I was born with the gift of laughter and a sense the world is mad.

RE: History videos
A little reminder from the year 1990 that people leave the Catholic church not only because they are a pedophilia club, but because of their frequent anti-science stance that kills people, their sowing of division and hate among people, their interference with politics, and overall being out of touch with reality.
