Even with the arguement he is trying to make, I dont see why you would pick heroism, what if a woman is heroic, do we consider her a real man? Also not everyone has the opportunity to be hero, in my day to day there arent burning buildings to run into, robberies to stop, platoons of soldiers to sacrifice myself for, doesnt mean that I wouldnt given the opportunity there just isnt alot of demand for heroism in my life.

Real Men

Because the goalposts were moved to quality people instead of real men. I was attempting to qualify attributes we perceive in others that make them good/better/best examples. Heroic was one of those, and we were attempting to nail down what is heroic, is it the deed or the intent.
@onlinebiker I grant that inherent to the essential definition of man is that man is(exists), not that the colloquial "real" version has anything to do with A) having a penis or B) is alive
