Anecdotal that may be, there were a lot of immigrants from Russia here in PRT a few years ago. One thing I've noticed is the vocal homophobia they held.

Same in UK, lots of "Poles" that couldn't speak any Polish, fluent in Russian though... Putin is rediscovering how his predecessors manipulated masses: with religion. Because you can be the most brutal dictator, but as long as you claim that you are for Jesus, people believe that the bad and oppressive stuff is good for them.
