Really? You have two people here who say they'll stay home if faced with the choice of Trump or Biden. That sounds pretty fucking retarded to me.

I don't have any problem with them preferring Sanders over Biden but this Bernie or bust attitude is just fucking stupid. It's childish. OBVIOUSLY, Joe Biden's ethos is going to more closely match a Sanders supporter's ethos than Trump's - by a wide margin. This is like a child throwing a tantrum because he/she is offered a cookie but not the one they wanted.

It's not retarded or childish. It's just deciding not to cast a vote for someone you don't like. For years, I've only voted if there is a candidate I actually want. I don't do votes for desperate parties. Get better candidates or expect to have to work harder to get your party to vote.

Say a Bernie supporter isn't Democrat. How do you gather you're owed their vote?

That's all well and good, but you can't tell other people to do that just because it's what you would do. I'll vote for Biden because I actually don't mind him that much, but if it was someone I didn't like, I wouldn't vote. It's on the Dems to sort their shit out, not me.

It's a fair principle, but the repercussions of allowing Trump and Republicans another 4 years to do things like make the Supreme Court conservative for the rest of our lives, are not worth it. Seriously, what you're saying is extremely silly to me.

Voting is our power. Power is best wielded pragmatically. The primary is the time to be idealistic, that's what it is for. Once things are said and done, and you have a choice in November between people you may not like, don't pretend they're equal because they're not perfect. That doesn't make sense.

The supreme court and the federal bench are already conservative for the rest of our lives. That was the get worth every single republican principle for the last 30 years...which succeeded in spite of the dems getting the votes..just to remind everyone.

The republican party is not nationally viable. Let that sink in. You guys aren't losing because people like me aren't voting, you're losing because you've agreed to play a game with people who haven't just tilted the table against you, they flipped it over and burnt down the house it was sitting in. Where it's a race to the bottom, on a perpetual cletus safari for the mythical independents and swing voters.

In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. I think you’ve hit it. People are so enamoured of the idea of having a perfect candidate that they aren’t willing to cast a vote for what is (in their eyes) a less than perfect one.

Whether it comes down to Trump v Biden or Trump v Sanders, the lesser of the evils is pretty clear.

People are free to do whatever they want, including not vote. I just don’t want to hear their bitching after the fact, when Trump wins again.

Yes it's so mature to vote for an ineffective status quo on the way out .

No. If we keep "voting blue, no matter who" nothing will change. Why would it? If it doesn't matter who they put in front of us, because we keep voting for them, then they're just going to keep shutting out everyone who actually wants to change the system. It's their fault for not giving us someone to vote for.

Why else do you think the democratic party keeps moving to the center, or right of center. Because they compromised too much, and didn't stand their ground. At some point you have to just draw a line in the sand, and never cross that line.

Funny thing is we can say that too Biden voters because you backed a candidate who will lose too Trump and even if he wins by some miracle will be too weak to do shit against Republicans .

Also, apologies in advance. I’m PMSing, and feeling especially cunty at the moment. Don’t anyone take it personally. 😛
