That's not new or novel.
The irony in this example, is that whiskey has a long and distinctly anti-government history in the US. If bourbon has become a symbol of oppression in Nutlandia, then it's nature as americana has been wholly flipped upside down.

Can’t say I disagree. When a user of tobacco - a uniquely American product - derides the use of American whiskey, there’s a pretty clear break with reality.

Meh, it's liquor, already demonized and because of this convenient to lump in with the great satan.

If I lived where he does I might be screaming help help I'm being repressed. I'm willing to cut him some slack. I try to give him some slack because he is sick. But all his woes aren't coming from America/Americans/those who emulate Americans.
