I'm not specifically talking the law system, it's any system, as long as people are involved it's not going to be perfect.
If I was a cop, and I was at the center of a prisoner's death, whether I made a sincere honest mistake, or I acted with willful intent, someone is dead. It was still me that killed them. I made the choice to act. "The System" may have been founded on the idiotic beliefs of the past, but it was humans with those idiotic beliefs that built it. So blind hatred shaped the system, the system itself isn't the issue.

Does a system have to be perfect, for it not to be racist?

The idea of a perfect system is marvelous, but again, once the narrow minds of humans put the idea in to motion, it becomes corrupt.

I've been mixed in with all kinds of people since I left Indiana. In boot camp half our company were farm boys and half were from Harlem. MMC (SS) H. K. Wiggins didn't tolerate any shit, so we managed to behave for nine weeks. At the end we figured out that we were all just people.

Not perfect, but self-correcting. Nefarious souls tend to be stealthy and weasel their way into systems that overtly don't tolerate them. The reaction when they're exposed is important.

Nobody said it was well intentioned. OLBs ignorance is definitely not that....but it is ignorance.
