All I Have To Do Is Dream
#11
RE: All I Have To Do Is Dream
I had a dream.

In my dream I saw a world where a person was judged by their character, not the colour of their skin, their appearance, their beliefs, or their sexual orientation.

In my dream all people were equal. No one was considered better than anyone else.

In my dream I saw a land where everyone was treated with dignity, were employed in caring for others and the planet.

And then in my dream...

Then in my dream...

I was standing naked in a carpark in Invercargill with my tits covered in pickle.

Boru, both you and I know I am a wimp.

But in all joking aside, in all seriousness My favorite stuffed animal was my favorite Christmas present as a kid I got when I was adopted. It was a giant, for a kid of course, Winnie The Poo  stuffed animal. I had it until I was 17. I don't mean that I slept with it to that age, but kept it for sentimental reasons until it got old.

By the way do you know the origins of how Winnie The Poo got it's name?

Yes, I know.  And I wish you would fucking learn to spell.  It's 'Pooh', not 'Poo'.

I hope this criticism doesn't give you more bad dreams that you feel compelled to tell us about.

*sigh* Christopher Milne named his toy bear after an American black bear at London Zoo who was called 'Winnie' (after Winnipeg, Canada) and a swan called 'Pooh'.

Be honest, did you already know that before this thread, or did you just look it up?

I learned the name origin this week.

I already knew it. It’s pretty common knowledge.

Your new nickname is ‘Pickletits’. This name has been approved by a majority vote of the International Nickname Assigning Commission (the vote was 1-0, no abstentions) and is therefore official and not subject to an appeal.

RE: All I Have To Do Is Dream
My uncle, who lived up and across the highway a bit, had an airplane.  He flew it with my sister and me so often that I didn't know it was out of the ordinary.  He took me to a doctor in the state capital when I was five.  The doctor said, "I hear you got here in a special way today."  I answered, "Yes, sir, we took a taxi!"  It was my first taxi ride from the airport.  I don't know if I remember the event itself or Aunt Nita telling and retelling the story.

I had a dream Uncle Doc was flying Mom and me back from Texarkana.  Before going to the airport, we flew over the farm.  As we would always do when we heard the plane fly over, my sister ran outside and waved.  Uncle Doc waved back by tilting the wings side to side.  I fell out of the plane, beginning a long descent.  I thought, this is going to hurt.  I'm going to die.  I landed in the tall grass near the pond.  Still awake but unable to feel my legs.  The plane flew away as if they hadn't noticed I was gone.  I tried to stand up but my legs wouldn't work.  I fought to use my legs or at least yell but my chest was too heavy.  I could only lie in the grass and watch the plane disappear.  It was an early brush with sleep paralysis.  I fought to wake up and did.  My legs tingled.  They were asleep.

I don't know if I remember the actual dream or the many times I've thought about it.
