If you are going to argue about taste that is a losing argument.
TS and Metallica were most certainly on the same motif. Metallica simply had more range and and appeal.
If Metallica had made the same mistake they would have died just as quickly.
If AC/DC had covered the same song in the same way, they too would have died.
The song TS covered was a classic, and worthy of hall of fame, but it was a pop song, not a metal song. "Leader Of The Pack" was a pop song, not a metal song.
If Rush or Queen or Pink Floyd attempted a cover of "Leader Of The Pack" they would have flopped the same way TS did with that song.
Twisted Sister and Metallica weren't playing for the same audience.
Being loud and having long hair doesn't make a band metal.
Taste has nothing to do with it.
