You're worried about your frozen peaches because some asshole suffered consequences for using his actual right to free speech?

did you not read the irs link? kinda says you are wrong. I am not worried about anything. that board however could be feeling heat from aoc people.

No, it says that charitable organizations can't campaign for candidates.  It says nothing about criticizing the government or politicians.

Even if it did say what you imagine it says, it would have nothing to do with why Yoho got bounced from the board of a Christian charity.

Moot point today, anyway, since enforcement dried up ten years ago, when catholics and evangelicals decided that they were incapable of adhering to such a simple provision and the irs realized that it could never win a pr battle with professional liars.

Religion, in the us, something like the 15th largest world economy if it were a country...which it very much would like to be.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

keep reading sport.
In 1954, Congress approved an amendment by Sen. Lyndon Johnson to prohibit 501©(3) organizations, which includes charities and churches, from engaging in any political campaign activity. To the extent Congress has revisited the ban over the years, it has in fact strengthened the ban. The most recent change came in 1987 when Congress amended the language to clarify that the prohibition also applies to statements opposing candidates.

the a supreme court case limiting to any political activity:

A definitive court case on the issue of free speech and political expression is Branch Ministries Inc. versus Rossotti (PDF). In that case, the court upheld the constitutionality of the ban on political activity. The court rejected the plaintiff church's allegations that it was being selectively prosecuted because of its conservative views and that its First Amendment right to free speech was being infringed.

The court wrote: "The government has a compelling interest in maintaining the integrity of the tax system and in not subsidizing partisan political activity, and Section 501©(3) is the least restrictive means of accomplishing that purpose."  political activity is not limited to campaigning.

Branch Ministries spent money on political ads and did not report the income used to pay for the ads as taxable to the IRS. If they had stuck to criticizing from the pulpit, they'd have been fine.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.
