My new YouTube video about atheism

My new YouTube video about atheism
One of the most popular videos on my YouTube channel is my video about atheism in Latin. I thought a great way to reach more people is to repost that video, this time with English comments: https://youtu.be/AZOo5lgi6lI

I you want, can you post a transcript of it? I have a hard time understanding your English (I'm a non-native English speaker too).

It must be a great comfort to know that you’re so popular among the worldwide community of Latin-speaking atheists.

I always assume I speak English well. Maybe that's not the case, though.

It's not a worldwide community. We are mostly in southern Europe.

Way to get your message out, then.

Don't worry. I think that it is intelligible, and you accentuate English speech well enough for it to be understood, despite your Croatian accent. If you heard my Faroese accent speaking English, you'd most likely notice the difference - and my accent, I've been told by a native English (American?) speaker from Chicago says the same thing about me, because growing up speaking Faroese and later learning to speak English, there are a good deal of phonetic pronunciations I don't quite get and able to pin down like a native speaker does. But this "double difference" from Croatian to Faroese accent makes it rather taxing for me to follow.

Also, from the transcript, you mention this:

Quote:Gender studies are rather similar to theology, equally dogmatic and unscientific.

"rather" here is doing some, rather, heavy lifting.

I suspect you get this interpretation and view from Thunderf00t's critique of feminism. A critique which I don't agree with - but that is for another time. Everything else I read from the transcript I have no issue with.

I don't know about you, but I can't tell the difference between American English and British English from pronunciation alone.

I suppose English was very easy to learn for you, if your native language is Faroese.

I think most of what's called social science isn't really a science. I think linguistics is the only true social science. Phonetics is without a doubt an experiment-based science, even more so now in the time of speech-recognition software. Historical linguistics is also relatively scientific. De Saussure predicted the existence of a historical Indo-European language in which 'eH' corresponds to long 'a' in other Indo-European languages, 'Ha' corresponds to short 'a', and so on, 50 years before such a language was discovered. There is, as far as I know, nothing like that happening in other social sciences.

I'm so glad we have you to decide what is science. Way to shit on decades of work in the social sciences.

Hypotheses (based on background knowledge and well-standing theories) are constantly done in social science research, and many end up being supported. I'm sorry it's not "experimental enough" for ya.

Here's a link for you to check and hopefully learn something more accurate and fair about the social sciences (the article specifically is related to psychology but all the same):

Great!  We can forget about law.

And history.

And geography.

And anthropology.

Sociology, psychology, education, economics...none of these disciplines have ever contributed as much to the human condition as corresponding 'ha' to a short 'a'.  Let's scrap 'em all.

Come on guise.

Instead of just disparaging a blanket claim about the social sciences, educate him on why they're useful.
