Wings is a Twitch streamer notorious for following the Boogie2988 formula you described, except that, by all accounts, the psychological problems [while I'm not a psychologist and I don't know him personally, it looks like he has a combination of bipolar disorder with significant anxiety issues and just generally being a gaping asshole] seem to be real (or at least not faked if they're not a full-on mental disorder). And it looks like he's alienated too many people to do #4 anymore.

I'm unfamiliar with Wings, but I'll check him out if he shows the classical signs of The Game of sociopathy. It will be take some comparisons with different instances to see an emergent pattern, but I find this kinda mental health stuff both entertaining (I'm an asshole like that, The_Valkyrie will most likely know what I'm talking about, but whatevs) and actually meaningful.

I'm not sure Zakaria's opinion is sound. I've read elsewhere that courts take a dim view of violating past legislatures' laws about awarding electors. Not being a lawyer, I just don't know.

He is right. In his own mind, Trump is convinced that he isn't leaving. He and his evil henchmen have been gaming how to stay in power for months now. Trump understood that the first step was to undermine trust in the upcoming election. Then, if you lose, call the election a fraud. Then file lots of suits and whip up your supporters into a frenzy. Demand Republican state election officials overturn the results and either send Trump electors, or send no electors. If that doesn't work, create riots in the streets and call in the military to "put down a coup" by the other side.

In Trump's mind, this all makes sense. It may not come to pass, but that depends 100% on the Republicans growing a spine. All that matters is power to fuckheads like Evil Mitch. Just like Erdogan said, "Democracy is like a train: when you reach your destination, you get off" . Trump's goal is to be dictator for life, and 10s of millions will cheer for it to happen.

I think that's the job of the D.C. police.  The secret service only protects the safety of the politicians.

When push comes to shove, all that matters is who takes orders from whom.  It is about individuals stepping up, and that will depend on public perception of the truth.
