The Suns not going to absorb anything it will incinerate the moon. Assuming it even survives its approach.

They are clearly talking about an eclipse.

The best quranic explanation out there. Considering how much allah and his prophet is obsessed with women and gays (and ultimately sex), this totally makes sense.

In another literal translation the verse is " and the sun and the moon are joined together—' ;

It's always good to know that the authors of magic book could see the future, but never saw what was wrong with diddling little girls or killing their neighbors on divine pretext.

Just goes to show how big of a miracle the quran is. The little nuggets of gold-gold in the giant steaming pile of human-trash is proof positive that the people who wrote the book couldn't have known shit, because they demonstrably didn't know shit...so any two sentences strung together into a true and coherent thought would simply have to be the work of a god.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Quote:Sura 75, The Quran:

(1) I do swear by the Day of Judgment!
(2) And I do swear by the self-reproaching soul!
(3) Do people think We cannot reassemble their bones?
(4) Yes ˹indeed˺! We are ˹most˺ capable of restoring ˹even˺ their very fingertips.
(5) Still people want to deny what is yet to come,
(6) asking ˹mockingly˺, “When is this Day of Judgment?”
(7) But when the sight is stunned,
(8) and the moon is dimmed,
(9) and the sun and the moon are brought together,
(10) on that Day one will cry, “Where is the escape?”

I leave you to think about this.

Do you really believe in a god-made apocalypse?  This is talking about an eclipse.  Celestial events have always been considered harbingers of heavenly action -- and usually not of the good kind for the ruling monarch.

No, the eclipse was already mentioned in the previous verse 8:

Quote:(8) and the moon is dimmed, Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran

Which in another translation it is:

Quote:(8) and the moon is eclipsed, Fadel Soliman, Bridges’ translation

First the moon will be eclipsed (verse 8)
Then the moon and the sun will be joined together (verse 9)

Since when does ‘brought together’ mean ‘absorbed’?
