One sentence trump for everyone

I watch my son play the little big planet game. On that game it gives you the option to make your own levels, or make your own game if you will. My son will spend hours on making his own games just to set everything up in his "little big world" to be destroyed so he can get a laugh at it. Yes, he gets very elaborate with his designs and when I play it with him, sometimes it makes ZERO sense, but is still very humorous and entertaining. That is reality. Now lets apply this to the malevolent designer, who isnt a human child, but a supreme being. He can have anything he wants just by snapping his fingers. In this hypothetical situation we are nothing but Loki's play toys to dispose of however he wishes. Its like we are trapped inside of an illusion and there is NOTHING that can pierce it, no logic, no evidence, no science, not even pleading. We have been programmed to do exactly what this being wants us to do. Perhaps he allows certain people to have a bit of controlled randomness (they can do whatever they want within a set parameter, but cannot go beyond their programming out side of those parameters) just to add some zest to his entertainment.

Break out your tin foil hats gentlemen. I think we have another one who can appreciate the ultimate conspiracy theory as well.

I agree. If this premise is correct, then we are FUUUUCCCKKKKKED! And here is another kicker. am I being inspired by Loki to type these words? Am I typing these words or is Loki making me *think* I am typing these words?

This mental exercise opens many doors in my opinion. It is very easy to see how madness can overtake someone. When the authors of the bible were writing their scriptures, what was going through their minds? Did they know they were just making shit up? Did they honestly believe some "holy ghost" was making their hands write the letters? Are my hands being guided by Loki right now?

You're a good guy azharrison. I love biology very much. I am a strong skeptic and materialist. I dont mind being called an atheist, and many times I have used it to describe what I dont believe...but the CONSPIRACY of malevolent design!!!!!11!11!!1eleventyone!

LMFAO - I love the malevolent design conspiracy thing. Its a great mental exercise. Some times it gives me the chills, other times it makes me laugh my ass off.

P.S. - The dupes like to say; "Satan's greatest trick was convincing man that he didn't exist". No. His true masterpiece was convincing Christians that Jesus was actually their savior.

Malevolent design conspiracy... sounds like James Cameron's next film.

I say we change that title to "Malevolent Design Theory" and start our own religion... We could tour the country holding Tent revivals. Our schtick would be that we are curing people from being primates!

"HEAL SINNER, you are no longer a monkey! Now WALK without that tail.

It is okay to want to know beyond reasonable doubt, the problem is the way you are using the term 'reasonable doubt' makes the word 'reasonable' completely redundant, you might as well just be saying 'doubt'.... Were you to say "can you show that Satan isn't fooling you beyond all doubt" I would say no, anything that is not logically necessary is open to doubt.

A doubt is much the same as positive belief but in antithesis, just like not all beliefs are reasonable neither are all doubts, they become reasonable when we have good reasons to believe them over all other competing positions.

My point was that not all doubts are reasonable, You could accurately describe the weather where you are right now and I could say 'doubt it' and the simple fact that I am able to doubt you does not make my doubt reasonable. You could be lying about the weather and my saying 'doubt it' would still not be reasonable if I have no good reason to doubt you.

It seems to me that Madam Blavotski's argument is applicable here, We know that Satan isn't fooling us because he was the one offering us knowledge while God was trying to keep us ignorant. I won't get into the 'reasonable doubt' debate, because I reasonably doubt the existence of both parties in question, but I think this is a compelling argument within the context of the hypothetical question.
