When the bail got refunded, very few people paid the money back to the bail fund, and they just kept the money. So essentially, they were paid to riot, destroy property and break the law.

How the money in fund was used or misused isn’t the issue. The issue is that Graham either doesn’t understand the Bill of Rights or doesn’t like people who defend it (I strongly suspect it’s the latter).

Except that the majority of those arrested in the protests wound up not even needing bail. A better critique (one which lines up with reality) would point out that a lot of that money ended up going to people who were arrested for far more extreme crimes unrelated to the protests. And I’m not certain any of the donors who gave them $35 million knew that it would come to it.
