You're certainly not going to be able to pass middle school in florida with an attitude like that. What part of student will recognize don't you understand, you godless commie revisionist. Wink
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Instead of dividing sports by gender, why not divide by ability or skill? That would nicely resolve any trans issues.

I remember doctors office, 5th grade, girls bathroom. Sports physical not nearly as fun.

Trans men-to-women athletes experience significant performance gains from muscle put on from past male testosterone levels. While overall strength will wane if those levels are reduced, it can take years. That is my understanding, and I am willing to be corrected.

So, this is a battle between a human rights issue, and fair competition for other athletes. (Plus, some athletics is big business).

However, at high-school level, this really shouldn't be an issue. It has been grabbed by the religious right.

Actually, as it turns out, the advantages given by past testosterone levels tend to get evened out after you go on hormones for a while. Here’s one article about it.

And here’s a meta-study showing that there isn’t really much difference:

I know, right? I used to assume that sports might actually be one of the few areas where trans people have not only a material difference with cis women, but also an unfair advantage, especially after watching Fallon Fox go Butch Coolidge on Tamikka Brents, but, looking closer at the data, it turns out that’s not actually the case, especially if you’re on hormones for long enough. It does take time, but it probably takes less time than you might expect.

I've heard people concern troll as if the massive wave of trans athletes are going to be snatching up all those lucrative full rides for real girls™. As if either of those things were real things.

Because some people like to be the very best in a category that is not “second best”.    So you make for them a category in which they can be the best, but defined in such a way they can forget it is really just the second best.

So they can move up when they get better. What's the problem?

In the most obvious case, there is often extremely limited potential to get better enough to be competitive at the next level.
