Because I live closer to Compton than you (Illinois is closer to L.A. county than Michigan) and even I had to look shit up just to be sure what Compton was just to see if the gangsta rap I listen to on occasion isn’t skewing my perception of the city. And, frankly, given that I don’t remember Kung Fu Kenny and NWA talking about the fact that Latinos make up a bit less than 2/3 of the population, I think it might be the case.
