I should have put hers in parenthesis I guess.
No worries.

There is a law against planting potatoes in your garden in, of all the possible states, Idaho.
Yes, really, the state whose biggest export is potatoes has laws against growing them in your own garden.

Not really. The potatoes have to be certified as free of disease and pathogens. If you buy your seed spuds from a reputable, approved supplier, you're golden. The regulations are there precisely because Idaho's biggest crop is potatoes.

"Sleepy Joe" meant that everyone could sleep peacefully at night when he was the president.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Churros are immensely popular in Thailand. The Thai name for them translates literally as ‘Spanish deep-fried dough stick.’ Descriptive, if not imaginative.

Two things I didn’t know until today:
1) Lincolnwood Town Center, a mall near me, has gone full mall death spiral, with only a few stores that are neither closed permanently nor liquidating.
2) Apparently, old episodes of MLP count as Ads now.

Nother thing I just found out: apparently, it seems like Customs is getting bizarrely ruthless about stuff from France.
Last month, I ordered a pouch with an Emil Cioran quote on it from a French seller on eBay. It was apparently turned back at customs. I asked the merchant about it, and her said this:
Quote: Profile Image
Hi, after checking, your pouch has actually been blocked by US Customs. There are big issues right now and I think I will have to stop shipping to the US as they no longer let small packages through.
In addition, they apparently do not return the goods, they destroy them. As a seller, you lose both the item and shipping costs, which is quite frustrating.

In addition to being a crackerjack mystery writer, Dame Agatha Christie was an avid surfer. In fact, she is widely accepted to be the first British woman to surf standing up.
