What do you know today that you didn't know yesterday?
RE: What do you know today that you didn't know yesterday?
Iroha of Illit moved to Korea to become a trainee when she was 11. How do things like that happen? Surely an 11-year-old doesn't just up and hop a plane to Korea one day.

There are settings in BIOS for the PCIE gen that the M.2 slots are configured to run at. I'd have never guessed. I just assumed they ran at their fastest mode.

The Ryzen 5 5500 only supports PCIE 3.0, unlike its sibling the 5600. I've had a thought to build an AM4 platform sometime in the next year, primarily for testing, but there's no sense in needlessly leaving performance on the table. The 5500 was appealing for its price, but this changes things.

The classic American baseball song "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" was written by Jack Norworth and set to music by Albert Von Tilzer in 1908. Neither of them had ever attended a baseball game prior to writing the song.

Kind of like British scientist James Smithson, founding donor of The Smithsonian Institution,  never visited the United States or even wrote a letter to anyone there.

The Beatles version of ‘Till There Was You” earned songwriter Meredith Wilson more money in royalties than the play and film The Music Man combined.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

That Jack White of the White Stripes could probably have been a great replacement for Garrison Keillor:

That the construction of New York's Brooklyn Bridge was largely a family affair. It was designed by German immigrant engineer John Augustus Roebling, who was subsequently appointed chief engineer of the project. When Roebling died of a tetanus infection in 1869, his son Washington Roebling was hired to replace his father. When Washington was incapacitated by decompression sickness, his wife Emily - a self-taught engineer - took over as project manager and supervised much of the day-to-day operations.

The first ticket sold for the first New York Comicon (not to be confused with the later New York Comic Con) was bought by 15 year-old George R.R. Martin.
