I'd eaten there, decades ago. It's not all that great, to my taste buds. Their attitude? Fuck 'em, I'll never eat there again. My wife had never eaten there, just because of logistics. One of our neighbors gave us some, and nobody in the house liked it. One got put in right in the same mall as a Hobby Lobby. Guess where else nobody in our family has set foot?  Hehe

None in Winnipeg so far.  I don't think they'd do well here - Chicken Chef and Jollibee would clean their clock, and then they'd have to contend with Chicken Delight, Popeye's and the dreaded KFC.

Puts me in mind of Washington’s attitude regarding the hiring practices at Mt. Vernon: 

‘If they are good workmen, they may be of Asia, Africa, or Europe. They may be Mahometans, Jews, Christians of any sect, or they may be atheists.’

In context, it’s like saying, ‘I don’t care how you pray, just make me a sandwich.’ Hard to find fault with that attitude.

OK, so a few years back CFA came out publicly as opposed to same sex marriage and revealed that they donated money to candidates that opposed SSM.  My attitude has always been the same as Boru; please make me lunch and don't talk to me about politics.  If I don't know what the owners do then I don't much care.  But when they wave it in my face it kind of gets personal.  Same with Hobby Lobby and their very public stance against homosexuals and birth control, not to mention that obnoxious Christian music in their store.  I just can't stomach that.  Hey, I absolutely love me some Indian food, but I've never, not even once, felt preached at in an Indian restaurant.  I'm pretty sure the owners are Hindu but I wouldn't know because they aren't spouting their religious beliefs at me.
Why is it so?

At the same time, all the employees who had no say in what Chik-Fil-A did about SSM would be hurt by your boycott. I prefer to just leave politics aside. My stomach is the Switzerland of consumption.

Let me be clear that I have not boycotted CFA.  I know people who have and I was curious about what others thought.  I marvel at how fast they can take and fill orders when other fast food places are falling all over themselves.

OTOH, I never shop at Hobby Lobby.  I just can't.

What about cereal? I can just about live on cereal. I've loved it since I was a child, and that was weeks ago. Seriously, for whatever reason I can't explain I just never grew out of a taste for cereal of all kinds, sweet crap with little marshmallows, wheaty stuff with fiber, stuff with nuts, raisins and granola, I love all of it. Please don't lecture me on how bad it is for me; I already know that. I'm addicted, that's all I can say. If it's a rainy night and I have nothing in the fridge but milk, I can be happy with a bowl of Fruit Loops. Still sad they stopped putting a prize in the box, though.

Once I actually considered trying to live on nothing but cereal for a full year just so I could write a book about it. My doctor said he would shoot me and save me the trouble.

Same. Although my favorites have been the semi-sweet varieties. Like Pops, Honey Smacks/Golden Crisps, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Fruity Pebbles, etc. Considering all the literal candy that is put into some cereals, I considered these ones to be "semi-sweet" because they're sweeter than Cheerios or Bran Flakes but they're not as sweet or candy-loaded as some cereals out there right now.

I hate milk. I don't buy milk for anything. Cooking, drinking, anything. I have a low tolerance threshold for any scent of milk, if it smells even a hint off, I don't want it. The only exception is cereal. I'd do that completionist breakfast ritual where I'll put enough milk in my cereal to get each piece slightly damp. Then, when I don't have cereal anymore but there's still milk in the bowl, I pour just a bit more cereal in. Oops. Too dry. Gotta put just s bit more milk in there. lol

My wife and kids are the same about milk.  They use different types of milk subs like soy, oat...whatever.  They're not bad but I prefer the OG.

If I had to pick my favorite cereal it would be Cocoa Pebbles.  Hands down the most chocolate flavored cereal there is.  I don't let myself have it often, due to the withdrawals and such.  I typically stock up on granola based cereals, Chex and my current addiction, Pumpkin spice frosted mini-wheats.

I may as well jump in on this turn in the conversation. I love cereal...all kinds of cereal and there are times that it's about all I eat...sometimes for several days till I remind myself that I should probably eat something else.

Eating cereal is the only way I consume milk unless it used in a recipe. We were forced growing up to have a glass of milk with every meal and we had to finish it. Guess that comes from growing up in farm country. I buy small containers of milk and actually poured one out yesterday that hadn't been opened and was a few days past the use by date.

I used to be a big cereal eater when I was younger. For some reason, I have hardly eaten any since I lost my fingers.

We get those little cartons of milk with each Meals-On-Wheels meal, but I don't use milk except for cooking so they go to waste.
