Maybe it was the texture, maybe the taste...I don't ever intend to find out.
In a conversation with my mother when my younger daughter was in her early 20s, I mentioned that she wouldn't eat lasagna becuase she didn't like Ricotta. Mom blew up about that and wanted to know how daughter knew she didn't like it. I had been making lasagna since that daughter was a baby and using Ricotta in the recipe. Pretty sure she knew she didn't like it because she had tried it.
Yeah, I don't get why people can get crazed over what someone else will or won't eat.
Here’s a rough version of a conversation I’ve had more than once:
‘I don’t care for guacamole.’
‘What? Are you insane?!’
‘Possibly, but that’s not the reason.’
‘Why would you not like guacamole?’
‘Because I don’t like the taste of avocado.’
‘But I make killer guac!’
‘Do you make it with avocado?’
‘Of course.’
‘Conversation over.’

The main abuse *this* waitstaff suffered last night was the sore-knees slog up the staircase to advise my daughter that dinner was ready. We really should get an intercom between the first and third floors.

Yeah, guacamole is big here and I want nothing to do with it. Yes, I have tried it, more than once. No, I don't like it. I do like Tex-Mex food and it's available on every street corner here but I always have to specify 'no guac'. I also don't care for pico de gallo - not a huge fan of chunks of raw tomato and one tiny shred of a leaf of cilantro is more than enough for me.

I've warmed to guacamole over time. It's particularly good inside Mexican dishes. But cooked beets are teh Satan.

Turns out that it doesn't love me. My reflux has diminished 90% just from cutting out tomatoes and onions...and probably the lime/lemon juice, which I KNOW I am allergic to, but ate anyway if it was in the salsa...but it was only a little citrus... I do like guacamole , though.

Should've just texted her.

At a veganish market where I worked in the deli, everyone wanted avocado on their sandwiches.

You have to look closely at menus here because they will try to sneak avocado onto or into almost every dish. Avocados make me cringe...the flavor and the texture.

I don't mind avocado, but I don't love it either. I'm not going to go out of my way to incorporate it into my diet.
