Tom Brady to face his former team.
I'll be rooting for the Patriots. Tom has more bling than a diamond mine. I don't fault him for being a GOAT, but I am also a fan of the underdog.

Sometimes, the underdog needs a good stomping.

Could be interesting. Belichick certainly knows Brady's game, but what can the Pats do against the Bucs defense?
Why is it so?

I have no horse in this weekend's race since my Washington Football team will not be part of that particular game. But long term in general, Dynasties are fun for fans, but suck for the rest of the sport. The Patriots for the past billion years (YES, an obvious exaggeration) have  been the Constantine's conversion to Christianity, or if that is not satisfying to you, Che ending up giving power to Castro.

The biggest thing about Brady that bothers me, is "why". Why does he cling on after basically being the voyager probe that went beyond Pluto and planet X?  Brady has been to 10 Super Bowls.

I am not rooting for the Patriots this weekend because of the Patriots,  but because of Brady not letting go. He has more than any player could ever dream of.

My only guess is that he can put some records so far out that they will be there for half a century or more.

So, you want the team Brady plays for to lose because Brady plays for that team?

Truly, you have a dizzying intellect.

That's not fair to Brian. He's obviously done his research.

Truth, if you are lucky enough to play 2 or 5 years as even a second string in that league, you are are doing better that the millions of others who don't get drafted. Which is why GOATS in general, bother me. Not that the best break records, but that they wont let go. Tom doesn't bother me for being talented. But he comes across as egotistical.

I am sure that Tampa will win this weekend. But I am rooting for the Patriots as a longshot.

I felt the same way about Deon Sanders who played for the Cowboys forever, but then in his later years moved to Washington. And all I could think was why? It wasn't a matter of hatting Dallas, but a matter of any player of any team clinging a bit too long. Even Joe Montana's stint with the Chiefs bothered me.

Tom got another ring with Tampa, and that is far more than most players get. And not only more than most player's get, a shitload more. I don't begrudge success. I even find it extremely impressive that Jim Kelly and the Buffalo Bills went to 4 consecutive Super Bowls. Back to back wins is pedestrian for many teams, but just showing up to the big dance 4 years in a row, even if you lose, is still impressive.

Tom is a GOAT for sure,  but he also had a stacked deck in a weak division. I think Jim Kelly is under rated for what he did.

An aside, does anyone remember Gruden, who is now the coach of the newly minted Las Vegas Raiders, when he was the coach of Tampa, what horror movie doll he was equated to looking like?
