There is such a thing as being silly. No, for your information, I am not a God, god or "godlet" (I think I created a new word).
I was poking fun at how big oil thinks it owns the world.
None of which changes the fact that it was a horrible parody. Just horrible. Dull, clumsy, unclever, and incredibly drab and awful.
Your poetry - both serious and parodic - sucks.

You'd be remiss to think I have not been told that before.
FYI, I do get tired of explaining to you, just like my spelling or any "HE MUST BE A COMMIE" KNEEJERK childish reaction to whatever I post. I do not post my poetry thinking most of it is Poe.
I have been a member here for years and you stupidly bring this up constantly. I don't wait for "perfection". I write my poems like a high speed Cannon Camera, then print everything, good or bad. Out of the thousands of poems in the past 30 years I have written, even if you won't admit it, I'd bet a polygraph you'd show up as deceptive.
You do love me, I swear you do. You love conflict, and needlessly so. Am I claiming to be Poe or Shakespeare? Absolutely not. But seems to me I am renting space in your head. I don't want to rent space in your head. I just want to be myself.

It is so tiring to hear "You suck" and "I don't like you". Everyone gets that on all sides.

I don't know why you're quoting me, I haven't said a thing to or about you.

I wasn't aiming my ammo at you. Sorry if you interpreted it in that manor.

You can, of course, write whatever kind of poetry you like - no one’s stopping you. But when you inflict it on me, don’t expect me not to respond honestly.
I don’t understand this bit at all:
Quote:Out of the thousands of poems in the past 30 years I have written, even if you won't admit it, I'd bet a polygraph you'd show up as deceptive.
Could you clarify?

Some more than others. It's important to listen to what people say about your work and use that to become better. Ignoring feedback is flying blind.
I took a poetry workshop with (name drop alert) Carolyn Forche. It was intimidating. There was another student named Stephen M. Vernarelli. He sucked. He was egotistical and dismissive of criticism. It became painful working through his submissions. However, he made me feel better about my work. At least I didn't suck, and I could use what others told me, especially the brilliant poet who had to read our crap, to improve.
Holy shit. I just googled Vernarelli. He wrote an IMDb bio for himself. Still cringeworthy after all these years.

Russ Myers made a living, so if you want to equate me to that, that is more than Jim Kelly did in the NFL.

I have never really been a fan of poetry except in the form of song lyrics, if they are done well.
After being assaulted with the Irrational One's 'poetry', I can now say that I pretty much hate poetry. Unless it's the work of Dr. Seuss.
