What Kind Of Horror Do You Like ?

What Kind Of Horror Do You Like ?
Do you like your horror gory? Do you like it subtle? Do you like lots of jump scares or just a creeping sense of dread?

For my part, I like my horror subtle and full of mystery where often you don't know what you suppose to be scared of but you get a creeping sense that something is wrong and the creeping dread that goes along with it.

At work.

For me it was the first 'Scream' movie. Where victims, while doomed, acted and reacted intelligently instead of just being weapon/targst piñatas.

I suppose the 'Evil Dead' as well, though one might say they became more 'Comedy'.

Evil dead was a good dark comedy. I was never much into the Scream franchise but I agree smart victims are always a plus in a horror film.

While not my kind of horror Reanimator was a good movie overall. You can never go wrong with Jeremy Combs.

I like all horror, but generally I prefer the psychological thriller where there is a twist that surprises me.

Thrillers are fun too. I really liked The Rear Window and Vertigo.

I don't care for horror and I can't stand gore. About the only horror I watch is Asian horror.

The only horror I can recall liking was Stephen King's Tommyknockers. That one had excellent character development and had more of an element of science fiction with a horror twist than true horror. Maybe some of you might think it's a bogus choice.

I'm definitely not a fan of the pure horror genre. Real life can suck enough so I tend to prefer optimistic fiction such as Star Trek.

Saw The Exorcist in 1974. Gave me nightmares.  Read a lot of Stephen King in the late 70's early 80's. Enjoyed most. Quite  liked the first TV of series The Stand.  The Mist gave me some distress. Have not yet managed  to watch any version of "It". Tried, stopped watching when that  child got his arm ripped off.

I really liked "Interview With a Vampire". I think it's Tom Cruise's best film next to collateral. Hated the TV Vampire series.
