This is correct and I illustrate it show how “ways of life” court meanings have different definitions from dictionary meanings. Thank you for answering both questions.

Careful - you’ll hurt yourself with that backpedaling.

The only bar, so to speak, that has to be cleared in order to be an atheist, is to NOT be convinced that gods exist. Some atheists go further, and claim to know that gods do not exist, but the fact is, they have still cleared the bar of not being convinced.

Atheism is: not a worldview, has no dogma, no doctrine, no leaders, or 'holy' texts. It is only a single position on a single claim.

My atheism is based on the fact that no theists, in the history of mankind, has ever been able to meet their burden of proof, for their claim that a god  exists. They are unable to produce demonstrable, falsifiable evidence, and valid and sound logic to support their claims. And since a god seems to be playing the longest game of hide and seek in history, my atheism will continue.

My atheism is a provisional position, not a dogmatic one.

As far as souls and an afterlife is concerned, I see no reasons to believe those things exist.

Everything that is supposedly attributed to a soul by theists, can actually be attributed to a physical brain. I also see no reason to believe an afterlife exists, because, since everything that is attributed to a soul by theists, actually no longer exists, when the physical brain dies.

All right, you’re being more vague on my answers and that’s cool but you sound like the dictionary definition of an atheist.
As far as your other points I can describe why atheism is categorized as a religion by United States Supreme Court and a few other things on what you mentioned. For now let’s just stick to these simple two questions in the OP.

Atheism is categorized as a religion by the Supreme Court, only as far as atheists deserving the same rights, with regards to freedom of, and freedom from, religion.

They are not making a theological or philosophical categorization.

I am not sure what is vague about my answers? I disbelieve that gods, souls and an after life exist, because I have yet to be offered demonstrable and falsifiable evidence, and valid and sound logic, to support theist's claims that those things exist.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

I'm just going to wait for the big reveal...I am quivering with anticipation as good ole Gary is surely going to provide us with what every other theist who has come here has not.

You’re really not very good at this.

Okay so you’re out. Lol
You make a nonsensical analogy and then throw your hands up.

It’s not nonsensical at all. You tried to make the case that non-belief is the equivalent of a belief system, with the insidious implication that atheists aren’t really atheists at all.

Ok but you personally, what is your answer?

It's a belief(s) that I lack, at least in the way that christians believe.

This won't end well.

Let’s discuss. What have you got to lose? We’re all at homes nowadays with more free time.

When you think you have the correct answer that you're expecting others to reveal, your search for knowledge is inactive because you erroneously think that you know all you need to know.

Be open to the possibility that you may be wrong, and this could all go much smoother.

Atheism is categorized by the Supreme Court, only as far as atheists deserving the same rights, with regards to freedom of, and freedom from, religion.

It is not categorized as a religion, theologically or philosophically speaking.

What’s vague about your answers is that you’re saying there’s lack of evidence to make up your mind on souls and the afterlife but you also place a belief in the brain.

You see, atheists love to be exact on definitions when it suits you and you also love to being vague when it suits you. Smile

Oh no no no absolutely not, I’m going by your definitions here and I don’t know anything until you tell me.

These are exact questions I’m asking regarding afterlife and souls not the famous spaghetti monster.
You just told me with absolute certainty that they absolutely don’t exist without any proof. This is a belief system .

Thank you ! Would you say that a more appropriate answer would be “I don’t know”?

RE: The Sects of Atheism
I’m an agnostic atheist. I lack a belief in the existence of a god and/or gods,
but I recognize that I cannot know that gods don’t exist. But I don’t need to, do I? As far as the afterlife goes, as it is with gods, there is no evidence of such a thing, therefore I don’t hold the belief that one exists. But something tells me this isn’t going to satisfy whatever itch you’ve got. Is it?

Thank you for accurately describing your position. I don’t have any issues with anything in your post.
