I may be being naive but I would at least like to believe this isn't purely for oil. A few things make me think that perhaps it's possible. The U.S clearly dosen't want to be too involved as it is already looking to play a much lesser role in proceedings. The French, not exactly known for their desire to get involved in wars were the main driving force behind the U.N resolution. There is no intention of using any ground forces. Other Arab nations are supporting and getting involved.
Either way, even if it is for oil, I'm glad that we have gone in. Gaddafi was clearly intent on butchering the uprising and fuck knows where that could have ended up. These people want freedom and rid of this man who is insane and a supporter of international terrorism and was behind lockerbie, the biggest ever terrorist attack on British soil. He's also tried to buy Nukes. As long as we don;t use ground troops and are just there as a way of stopping Gaddafi killing as and when he wants and to aid the people of Libya get what ever country they want to fight for I have no problems. I guess only time will tell.
Well how else do you enforce one? Ask Gadaffi nicely to not use planes? Take his word for it? That would end well, after all he kept his word when he declared a ceasefire....twice....O wait.
