I do not look at any porn, licit or otherwise. I have worked in IT for over 30 years, and I have an interest in IT security, and, in particular, elementary number theory (the basis of modern encryption). I also am an advocate of open source software.

Oh, so you've just been in IT for about as long as I’ve been alive, with a particular interest in IT security and encryption. That actually makes a lot of sense for how you know so much about how that would work. And, of course, anyone who watches Jim Can’t Swim (or is sufficiently aware of their rights as citizens) should be aware of the “Silence is Golden Rule,” if not by name. In my opinion, "Don't ask, Don't tell, and keep it all to yourself" is an appropriate maxim here. I could care less what some pervert is doing in his (her?) basement, trailer or office, as long as such is "out of sight, out of mind," and as long as it does not involve anyone else, especially, the innocent, above all whom are children.

As for the children who got exploited originally, it's water over the dam. As with an email that, once sent, can never be truly recalled, an abusive image or video that gets uploaded to the Internet may remain there for decades, even centuries or beyond.

I, for one, do not want to live in some despotic, Orwellian society who futility tries to right past wrongs, and in the process, simply revictimizes the old victims, and in the process, creates new ones.

And I take it that this is you confirming my hopes that you have some pretty radical civil libertarian views, and that’s why you were arguing they way you were. I’m not sure if I’d co-sign with those thoughts on CP (though I can at least understand your point), but at least it’s less batshit than Biker’s gotten.
