I do have to argue that the one better Beach Boys cover was by David Lee Roth.
You would think that.

At the time, growing up in cold winter suburban Washington DC, and hating cold weather, I pined to be in warm climates like California growing up. The Beach Boys music reflected the warm climate I wanted to be in. If you give me a choice between Green Bay Wisconsin, or Miami, or San Diego, or now being familiar with Keppel Island Queensland Australia, I will take any Tropical climate first. I fucking hate cold climates. The Beach Boys growing up always made me think of warm climates. The only thing worse than a song performed by the Beach Boys is a cover of a Beach Boys song, particularly if done by David Lee Roth. “If you are the smartest person in the room, then you are in the wrong room.” — Confucius |
