Sounds like he was air guitaring the original track. Love the song though.

The difference between the two, is you could tell that the Frida cover was a guy really trying to play along. This sounds like he simply played the original track without his own guitar playing in with it. In other words "too perfect".

In both cases the "perfect" album quality cannot be found even in a live concert. Look at where this guy is allegedly playing. Not a sound studio, but his own bedroom. You are not going to get that quality that you are allegedly claiming here in this video in a non studio environment. This guy was merely mimicking the song on a real studio track.

My guy playing the Frida cover was real, so of course it isn't going to be perfect.

Because he's really good you think he's faking it?

Do you seriously think someone playing in a non studio environment is going to end up with vinyl quality?

Even outside this issue, there is a HUGE difference between studio quality and live in person concert. When I was young dumb and full of you know. I was disappointed when I saw my first concerts and the live music didn't match the album. On an album you can fade out a song, but that same song done live in concert the ending has to be sudden always.

The Frida guy was really mixing his guitar with the audio/video feed. That is why it doesn't sound perfect. The Ozzy cover was too perfect, which says to me he was only visually playing along and all the real music was simply a track.

Now if you want to argue editing skills, that would be a different story.

Damned fucking right! You think I defend ABBA tooth and nail ?Vernon has the power to land on the beaches of Normandy without anything but his axe.

Vernon/Living Colour kick ass.

That original video I posted was not claiming studio quality, but it damned sure was talent.

I got to meet Living Colour at the 9:30 club, basically Washington DC's version of NYC's CBGB's club.

Damned fucking wrong. Not only is Reid not as good as Clapton or Hendrix, he’s not even as good as Knopfler or Campbell.

So the answer to my question is 'yes' because you don't believe someone other than the original could play like that.

And you must be high. There's a reason bands/musicians record live. It is different and often in a very good way.

You claim to have attended concerts...then say you were disappointed because the music didn't sound canned. Then why bother going to a concert?

Anyone who is familiar with Crazy Train and Rhoads' playing can tell that isn't Rhoads in the audio.

Reid kicks all their asses. His only problem was timing in music history. There are tons of talented musicians who never get to the epic level whom are as or more deserving than the famous everyone knows of. Competition isn't always about actual worth, but lots of luck too.

Reid deserves a spot in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

Wrong.  The kid is playing live, recording direct to sound card, probably through an effects pedal.  The way I've done it many times.  The original Rhoads track is muted or cancelled.  Look at the equipment on his desk.  You're talking to musicians here.  You know that, right?  It's a good chance to learn, so get over your silly notions.

The guy playing to Frida is sloppily playing along with the chord progression.  He doesn't even have a go at the solo.  He sucks.
