"Whose The Boss", still relevant.

"Whose The Boss", still relevant.
Recently I watched a rerun of the 80s sitcom "Whose The Boss". The plot had Samantha, the daughter underage drinking. Of course Tony, the dad flipped out.

In reality, my mom who could have lost her public school teaching career, had a different policy with me. She allowed me as a teen to drink, as long as I was at home in the basement. Looking back at it now, it was well intended, but dead wrong. If she had been caught letting me do what I did she could have lost her career and pension.

But this really for me isn't about even underage drinking. Even as adults, I have run into people whom are adults, whom think they are fine to drive when they are not. As an adult I had just left a bar, and noticed some "friends" in the parking lot of the bar drinking wine coolers. I told them they shouldn't be doing that because cops watch the bar all the time. Sure enough, seconds later, three squad cars surround us. One guy tried to shove his bottle into my window to get me to hide it. I rolled up my window, and it dropped to the ground. The three I was talking to in the parking lot got arrested for drunk in public. But, they gave me a roadside, walking the line, ABCs, that lot. I passed. They let me go. Ever since then even if I have a thimble of anything, I get a ride.

In that episode, Tony rightfully made it clear, and it applies to adults as well, if you drink, don't drive, and even if you don't drive, don't get into a car with a driver who has.

Even today, I run into adults, whom offer me a ride after drinking. I always turn them down.

‘Who’s’, not ‘Whose’.

And you’re still using ‘whom’ wrong.

I can't imagine sitting through an episode of Whose the Boss much less thinking of someone who recently has, hey, this guy, he knows.

C'mon, watch Wings for a change.

Yup, that’s how I remember it.

Then he'd be perfect for 37, one lefty, one righty. I can see the movie being made as I type.
