I'm with you sister!

Theist: Hey, how is god?
Atheist: Thank you, god is fine as well as his wife, his son, his believers and their written words. But, according to the teachings of god, via Ibrahim, god doesn’t have any relatives and the total sum of god is one! Therefore, according to your belief you’re wrong!
Theist: You’re a sinner and I pray that god forgives you for your sins.
Atheist: But wait a minute, I just debunked your religion thru your holly script!
You're right when you talk about yourself, and you're wrong when you talk about others.

I'm sure the Theist has more to say than just to preach. That scenario you made up just then doesn't sound so plausible. Well to me it doesn't.

None of the people with whom I associate are theists, with the sole exception of my mother.

The topics of god and religion simply don't usually come up. I'm considered a bit odd for spending time on atheist forums.(and other reasons) The topic WAS raised at Xmas at a mate's house. His 19 year old law-arts-student daughter has come down with a nasty case of evangelical Christianity.

It was an interesting exercise to see just how patronising I can be. (very) Cool Shades

How can I consider you an atheist when you are using manmade religion as a means of explaining your position or refuting a theist’s position? Many atheists explain things by means of whatever religion they were brought up with; e.g. they invoke the bible, god, and ones religious history or background when justifying their point of view. If god is fake then all that is related to god is false.

Yea, and in order to prove something false you must explain why it isn't logical or doesn't make sense you must use that thought or item and explain why its wrong. Asking why an Atheist uses The Bible as an example for their lack of belief in God is like asking someone why they must use Jay Cutler or any other player in a discussion when they are trying to explain why they think the Bears are a bad football team.

It is all manmade religion. Do you know of one that isn't? Or maybe we atheists really believe in god and just hate the fucker.

Yeah, I'm with theVoid and several others on this.
What are you on? The context of various religious beliefs from various "holy" books (such as the Bible) that most atheists are quoting in any given argument against religion is used to refute the idiocy not to prove the absence of one's own belief system.

What you're requesting of atheists would be like asking a medical doctor to save a life without ever having studied a cadaver. Understand? Knowing and understanding the opposite side of something allows you to refute. To fight it. To outsmart it and maybe, possibly even defeat it.

Funny, I don't remember us having met.Why on earth should I give a rat's rectum about what you think?

For the record,I do not argue or try to justify my position to apologists. This is mainly due to indifference. I honestly don't care about the personal superstitions of others as long as they stay out of my face.
