Many years ago, a drunk friend began mumbling to me, "nip in the bud, Ranj. . ." and so on, playing off the Barney Fife lines from Andy Griffith.  The name stuck and morphed over time.  In high school, and ever since with that crowd, they call me JR.

Yeah. Lover of lobsters is the content of the username. But what does that mean? Do you love lobsters so much that you oppose the killing and eating of them? -OR- Do you love the taste of their muscle tissue, especially when dipped in drawn butter?

That's two very different takes on the concept "lover of lobsters."

And there's also the way Troy McClure loved his lobsters.

My original username was Five because I have an affinity for characters with that moniker(I am Hrairoo on another forum and Five is my fav character on Umbrella Academy. When I first joined, I was a mixture of angry old atheist man stuck in a young man's body and visionary dreamer looking to escape the sinking ship of my current oppressive community).

When I had been here long enough to be able to change it, I upgraded to Ten which is double five, yet the 1 and 0 make me think of the supremacy of self. Ten is just a full number.

I used Doctor Agenda as my username on a superhero rpg board, because I thought it sounded like a supervillain. I changed it to Mister Agenda for other boards since I'm not a doctor and didn't want the hassle of people thinking I might be one. To an extent, the 'Agenda' part is useful in reminding me that people can have an agenda for what they post that isn't obvious. I tend to be slow to pick up on such things.

I looked up Fermat primes, and was saddened that 256^2 + 1 was not prime. Those kind of facts are why I dug into math as a kid. Now that I'm old, I've forgotten most of it.    Use it or lose it is so true.
