So should the confederacy and the 3rd reich, but there they are...in canada...still waving those flags and flashing those swas, eh?
Be a real shame if they burned down a building or two - but it would go a long way to avenging our national shame and rehabilitating the stars and bars.

Send in those big flatbed tow trucks that can load the semi tractors and start towing them to an impound lot. See how long it takes before they start moving.

Because, apparently, COVID-19 isn’t still spreading at an alarming rate, and people totally aren’t dying of the disease at a rate that we haven’t seen since before the vaccine was readily available.
Then again, you may have a point. Maybe we should have reached the point where we didn’t need to wear masks because we should have all gotten vaccinated when we had the chance to get herd immunity before it had the chance to mutate into newer strains, but we don’t live in a world where people can be reasonably expected to give a shit about sanity, the lives of others, or even their own lives. And therefore, the mask mandates remain in place.

Hardly matters. The huge protest in canada, of dozens of truckers, isn't about mask mandates anyway. Not even superficially. Neo was just showing us one of those reich wing blurting fits he gets into sometimes.

End the mandates? Increase them. And make vaccines mandatory*.
*If you are to keep your freedoms. Exposing others when you are unvaccinated is not just a danger to you but them also. It's not merely bodily autonomy if you're using your body to harm others.

I'm curious about your take on this, because I sort of see both sides.
I think that wearing masks is undoubtedly good, while mandating them is problematic.
Here in Japan there has been no official mandate, yet we are all still 100% masked up. Americans might see this as conformist or overly obedient, but it just feels like good sense. It also means that fighting over masks in stores, or protesting against mandates, never occurs to people.
Do you see any sort of reasonable compromise that might work in the US?
