Seeking meaningful advice from atheists

The people of the book usually don't insult God or their book. You know this much about your religion, I guess? your bible says : "Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain".

Someone who's complaining about people not taking his faith seriously and then, immediately after, relentlessly insults the beliefs of billions of people, including his own, is disrespecting my intelligence.

All that because his religion wouldn't let him have a sip of wine. Absolutely ridiculous.

Short answer: yes, it does.

Long answer: Kloro is a Muslim. ‘Disrespect’ is the best you can hope for.

Well, add a good dose of lunacy and I'll totally agree.

It's a catch-all term for those who follow religions that clown Abraham is responsible for.

Jesus turned water into wine in the Gospels, and he also drank wine during the Last Supper. Eventually God spoke to me in an audible voice and told me it was misinformation.

This is how you know that it wasn't God. The voice that you're hearing doesn't know anything that you don't already know.

If it had then it should have explained to you that wine features prominently in the gospels because until the advent of modern sewage treatment and water purification drinking water was a bad way to die. The alcohol in wine acts as a primitive anti-microbial, making wine safe to drink in circumstances where drinking the water is an open invitation to a whole host of nasty parasites. Drinking wine in moderation has almost certainly saved more lives than drinking it in excess ever took. Drinking wine only became a sin in our society once we'd figured out indoor plumbing, chlorination, and municipal water distribution.

If you are hearing voices and seeing visions then you should seek professional psychiatric help immediately. I'm not saying that with any malice but because I have lost family to similar afflictions. Do not trust your own judgement on this. If your brain isn't functioning properly then it will be impaired and unreliable. You go to a pastor with questions about faith, an electrician with questions about wiring, and a psychiatrist when you question the workings of your head.

I have something of a theory on that......

We take for granted the ability to read. Most of us are more literate than many " scholars" would have been 1000+ years ago.

You don' t have to travel far back in history to find a time when the vast majority of people couldn' t read. Some entire civilizations were illiterate.

Remember the early, early days of the internet? Not a small number of people thought that pretty much everything on the internet was true.

I suspect that people who were first exposed to writing were not much different. If it was in a book - it must be true, right?

And the religious? Still believe that shit......

So " people of the book"? = ignorant rubes who will believe any stupid shit you write down.

And if they read this post?

Their heads explode.

Well it is the most read, widely distributed and sold book of all time. But I'm sure you'll just chalk that up to some form of highly contagious and delusional form of psychopathy, as atheists tend to do.
