Food at restaurants is pretty good and for the quality and amount id say cheap.

But the food for daily living is very expensive. Specially fruits and vegetables.

Where are you initially landing, what city/towns will you be visiting? Pictures please.

I arrived at Narita airport and stayed a hotel for a night. Currently living in Sendai.

I intent to visit many places while living here but don’t know where yet. Probably Tokyo first since I have a friend there.

Yeah, it is still enforced here. In fact going through the airport was like going through a prison checkpoint. Takes like 1 hour and you get a COVID test

Nikkō would definitely be worth a trip. 2.5 hours from Sendai by train, (indirectly) on the way to Tokyo.
