No, not completely of his own making. Some idiots still had to be dumb enough to try to attack a guy with an assault rifle, and that's on them. I suppose all of us would be safer if we just locked our doors and stayed inside. Don't cross any streets because that's a good way to get hit by a car.

I know it's not the same as I said Kyle shouldn't have been there, but it's still not completely Kyle's fault. If a woman goes to a party and knows there are some suspect guys there but she still gets really drunk and passes out on the bed, you can't say that whatever follows is completely her fault just because she might have made a mistake in being there. Yes, Kyle took a big risk, and almost payed for it with his life, but he didn't attack himself, and Kyle is still the victim here. Multiple vigilantes tried to attack him and one tried to shoot him. You are basically acting like Kyle deserved to be attacked because of which street he was on. That's not the way the law works in the US of A.

That's not remotely the same 

Driving to another state to enact vigilante justice is nothing like someone happening to get drunk at a party and getting raped. Kyle had every opportunity to not be there and no valid reason to be there. So the fact you would even make this comparison is simply gross. Kyle isn't a victim he's a provocateur regardless of America's messed-up laws that allow armed vigilantes to escalate an already tense situation. Kyle is 100% to blame for this whole affair and multiple people were hurt because of that asshole's delusions he's the fucking Punisher and to be brutally honest I wouldn't have shed one tear had he been killed maybe it would cause the rest of the vigilante nutters down there to rethink going out of their way to stir up conflict.
