Atheist group at Bragg seeks Army recognition

RALEIGH - The cliche notwithstanding, there are atheists in foxholes.

In fact, atheists, agnostics, humanists and other assorted skeptics from the Army's Fort Bragg have formed an organization in a pioneering effort to win recognition and ensure fair treatment for nonbelievers in the overwhelmingly Christian U.S. military.

"We exist, we're here, we're normal," said Sgt. Justin Griffith, chief organizer of Military Atheists and Secular Humanists, or MASH. "We're also in foxholes. That's a big one, right there."

Read all of the christians who claim they support the millitary..look at all of the horrible things they say about these soldiers..and of course, the usual "they would have no problems if they just kept their atheism to their selves"

Why can't the xtians, muslims and any other bloody religious groupings keep THEIR "...isms" to THEMSELVES? Shit mankind ...your belief system is a personal thing. I would postulate that of the 7 billion persons on the planet there are 7 billion versions of religious / non-religious belief, no two exactly the same.

Why don't they all follow orders, and do fuck-all against them?
Please give me a home where cloud buffalo roam
Where the dear and the strangers can play
Where sometimes is heard a discouraging word
But the skies are not stormy all day

My fiancées younger brother, an atheist, served 2 tours in Iraq & 1 in Afghanistan. I know towards the end he was a sniper of some kind & has apparently killed more people than he cares to think about. He wasn't exactly stable when he went in & now has a pretty nasty case of PTSD.
