Quote:One way conservatives can eliminate this risk to their project is by questioning liberal Jews’ Jewishness. “If liberal Jews can be erased – either pushed out of the public eye or denied as genuine or authentic specimens of Judaism – then the challenge of liberal Jews disappears with it,” Schraub explains. The new definition of antisemitism is transforming America – and serving a Christian nationalist plan ![]()
Pete Hegseth has accidentally leaked operational details of forthcoming strikes on Yemen, including information about targets, weapons the U.S. would be deploying and attack sequencing to a journalist in the Atlantic.
Quote:This would be a stunning breach of security. I’m a former Army JAG officer (an Army lawyer). I’ve helped investigate numerous allegations of classified information spillages, and I’ve never even heard of anything this egregious — a secretary of defense intentionally using a civilian messaging app to share sensitive war plans without even apparently noticing a journalist was in the chat. "If Pete Hegseth had any honor, he’d resign" - but that is why he was hired because he has no honor.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
Maybe he thought the journalist was a Russian plant.
My take is that they are using Signal to avoid scrutiny. Felon and his DOGE henchmen are also using the Signal system, and have been told by a federal judge to stop, due to lack of transparency. Anyone brought up in the handling of classified material knows the ropes and what not to do. These people are clueless. They ALL ought to be lined up and shot. ALL.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

I can't see anyone in the command chain entrusting plans to email under normal opsec considerations. I don't really want operations plans to be transparent, but I'm just thinking that divulging these plans in an email is pretty sloppy on its face. That should be a no-go no matter what. Do we know what platform this email was sent? (March 24, 2025 at 11:06 pm)Thumpalumpacus Wrote:(March 24, 2025 at 10:14 pm)Fireball Wrote: My take is that they are using Signal to avoid scrutiny. But that isn't any secure channel I've any experience with, and it goes over public wires, IIUC, which is a TOTAL no-no. I think it's a toss-up between deliberate revelation, or incompetence. In terms of results, I guess that doesn't matter, given the chump's actual concern for guarding government secrets. Fucking bathroom storage, yet.

But, but, but....her emails.

Then Hegseth has proved his incompetence, as if it wasn't already apparent. (March 24, 2025 at 11:51 pm)Thumpalumpacus Wrote:(March 24, 2025 at 11:26 pm)Fireball Wrote: Yes, it was sent on Signal. I won't so readily ascribe to incompetence that which can be attributed to treasonous intent. At least, not where Trump and his minions are concerned.
