They do not, but Democratic Socialists of America want to abolish the Senate (and a lot of other stuff). Francesca Hong, a Democratic candidate for governor of Wisconsin had a social media post against Thanksgiving surface. Cruz doesn't get it from nowhere, he just finds anyone on the left with an extreme view and paints it as the position of 'the Democrats'.
