Does Joshua James Duggar's sentence make sense?

Does Joshua James Duggar's sentence make sense?
He's been sentenced to 12 or so years in federal prison (supposedly) in Texas for having (carelessly) downloaded child pornography off the Internet, of which, he must serve 85% before being paroled.  (In actuality, he used a BitTorrent client and the Arkansas police joined his "swarm" using a specialized BitTorrent client only available from the FBI to law enforcement, and from there, they were able to trace his IP address to his car dealership, and from there, to him.  In any case, he's clearly not a violent felon, and so, does he deserve the same sentence as an armed robber or a meth producer?  Or, someone who is guilty of vehicular homicide?

It sounds as if you’re excusing child pornography and giving advice on how to view it without getting caught.

Please tell me I’m wrong.

Edit: I’m not going to let this stand. Your instructions on how to get away with viewing child porn have been deleted.

I am making a political statement and observation, and no, I am not excusing child pornography, not at all.  What I am saying is that I think that the punishment does not fit the crime.

P.S.  My "instructions" are public knowledge, by the way.  They can be found on the Tails website:

Link removed. Don’t push this.

P.P.S.  As I did not link to any Dark Web (.onion) websites, my original statements in my OP are completely ethical.

But you also gave fairly detailed info as to how pervs can safely view kiddie porn with tipping off the cops. Double plus uncool.

It's public knowledge; you can find it online almost anywhere.

P.S. I am simply calling "a spade, a spade". JD got caught, because, he was careless. Most offenders, if they know what they are doing, will never get caught. That's just an observation, not an invitation to break the law.

At this point you might as well delete the entire thread.
