Face facts Ahriman, you are completely without merit or value.  When you die nothing will be lost.
You need to stop projecting. Everything that lives will eventually die and be forgotten. You're no different.

This is a community, kind of like a retirement home. We're supposed to get along here; that's more important than "winning" arguments.

And yet no one gets along here. And plus, it's a discussion forum, everything on here should be about winning/losing arguments.

You're reading to much into people's disagreement. Monkeys pick lice off each other as a form of social bonding. Humans have arguments.

There's an old Irish proverb that expresses it well: Better married and fighting than single and lonely.

And people do things besides argue on forums, so it isn't all spittle and bile.

I get what you're saying, but I really would like this place to be more of an actual discussion forum (first and foremost) as opposed to what it is now, which is essentially a psych ward.

Because we have an open door policy on nuts.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Bold mine

Does that explain why you are here?

That's a pretty strong claim; are you saying that atheists are psychotic?

I'm sure some of them are, but for the most part, no I don't think they're psychotic. More like confused teenagers whose parents put them in the psych ward because they started saying unusually eccentric things. It happens to the best of us.

Anyone in particular that you had in mind when you made this post?

I just wanted to establish that fine tuning points to a designer of some sort. Your argument is that fine tuning is an illusion? There is a real case to be made that there is fine tuning though. If the physical parameters were different we may not even have atoms, let alone life. Why is the universe like that?

One of the basic facts about constants is that they are, well, constant.  So they're not amenable to tuning.
