New Now Next

With younger generations, there's always something new.
New words, phrases, dances, clothing styles, etc.
This is a thread to share what's new, what's the
now fad, and what's next to become recognized by the future as a cultural phenomenon.
One recent new phrase is
Thirst Trap
Quote:A thirst trap is a type of social media post intended to entice viewers sexually.[1][2] It refers to a viewer's "thirst", a colloquialism likening sexual frustration to dehydration, implying desperation, with the afflicted individual being described as "thirsty."[2][3][4] Originating around the early 2010s, the meaning has changed over time.

I'm entirely too old to know what's up with the new generation(s).

Shortening words seems to be the
in thing, most likely due to texting and attempting to transition that into verbal dialogue.
Het, short for
heterosexual.
Like on the show
Heartbreak High, this gay guy says:
Flowers, that's very het, after his friend received flowers from a boy.

AITA
Been seeing it everywhere lately.
If I keep seeing it, no mater the context behind it, I'm going to respond, "Yes, you are."

It's not really the newest of the new, but I just learned about 'sleepy chicken' - cooking chicken in NyQuil.

"Look at this new phrase!"
*posts a decade-old phrase*
Y'all really are old af on here lmao. I guess it makes sense, social media has kind of killed internet forums. Twitter is enough of an internet forum for the Gen Z'ers. This and AD are the only ones I go on now.
