If gas hits $10 per gallon, what will you do?

If gas hits $10 per gallon, what will you do?
My office is exactly 5 miles from my home (walking & driving distance; in fact, I can drive there without having to go through any traffic lights), and so, I could walk there in 90 minutes one-way, or, start working from home.  A medium-size grocery store (Hy Vee) is 1.5 miles and downtown is just over one mile, and so, some small-scale purchasing options there.

And, so, if gas hits $10/gallon, I could start walking more, although, my wife & children won't be thrilled.  How about you?  If gas prices double or triple, food, clothing and commodities will likely surge in price, also, but what will life be like?

Little will change for me.  I'm already down to only needing to fill up about once a month...sometimes even every five weeks.  I work from home.  One day a week I go to the office to pick up paperwork and checks and catch up live and in person.  Later I take the deposit to the bank.  A trip to the office is about 20 miles round trip while going to the bank is about 10 miles round trip.  On my way to one or the other, I stop along the way if I need anything since most everything I need is between here and there.

Amazon and Chewy keep me stocked on many needs/wants.

I already pick up my groceries but could easily change that to delivery or plan it for the days I make the office/bank run.

My present vehicle gets 34+ miles per gallon and I drive less than 70 miles each week. Even if food and commodity prices go up, I've always lived frugally. My lifestyle is not likely to change.

If I have converted correctly from £ per litre to $ per US gallon I am paying around $7.1 per gallon... much heigher than it was 3 or 4 months ago (although much of the price is tax)
I have cut my travel down drastically though (plus walking keeps me fit (or less unfit!))

Makes one wonder if the Chunnel will someday soon be opened up to bicyclists and even pedestrians?

Because i see no good reason that the price of oil will raise another 50% in the forseable future.

Gas prices have gone down to just a little above $3/gallon in this area.

Last time I filled up gas was $3.18 per gallon and I had $1.00 off with my rewards card, so I paid $2.18 a gallon. Score!
